Responsible Tourism Week is the second annual live demonstration of Web 2.0 as a means of documenting the challenges and successes of developing responsible tourism. We'll be using Facebook, Flickr, Twitter and YouTube to document tourism practices around the world. To 'connect' people - particularly on Twitter - use the tag or hashtag #rtweek2010 in your tweets.
One of the key objectives of Responsible Tourism Week is to create incentives for continuity - we'd really like to hear updates on recent tourism conferences and events and we'd like to look forward to events in the future. Another objective is to strengthen contacts and make new friends!
If there is interest, we will attempt some real-time chats and webinars
Of special note will be International Museums Day (May 18) and International Day of Biological Diversity (May 22)
If you are looking for the closest thing to an agenda, take a look at the overview of critical issues in responsible tourism.
Partners help share news and create events in the natural world. Already confirmed as partners are Ecotourism Laos, Ecoturismo Genuino, respontour and WHL Group. Others expressing interest include colleagues from ICRT, People and Places and TripBod.
Become a partner. Let us know how we can collaborate.
